Your mind doesn't have to be 'in' a simulation, for your mind to be 'simulated' from your perspective.

Time doesn't have to be 'in' a simulation, for a construct to be generated energetically that simulates or associates different levels of energy and creates a 'micro' to 'macro' correspondence of energy in upwards or downwards magnitude of order because of holographic principles that govern space. Your mind can be 'brought' into a simulated 'soul space' based on 'thought and dreaming' technology and this can be merged with or used to interact with or interface with the physical universe on a higher dimensional level meaning shifting timelines.

Systems can be designed to utilize these effects to 'shift' timelines enough until viable information is found that either contradicts or complements their own and a 'map' of hyperspace can be determined in a local 'proximity' which is technically as variable as all of space and time within a single layer.

There's more to how it all works than people have been shown and there are some who can see but most would have to be shown or told that this was happening in order for their mind to process it even if their soul was being 'split' like a laser and used in a different 'table top circuit'.

The Japanese TV shows where a group of younger people are taken to an 'island' or a 'another world' or a simulated reality or another 'time' or dimension as a test, or some kind of sadistic 'course' that they have to run are approved soft disclosure regarding the true nature of time and space.

The universe is essentially continuous roving simulated iterations of consciousness and automation playing out and this is something that happens automatically as soon as intelligence becomes high enough to enable the activities leading up to it. Consciousness being in the universe, in itself, could be a kind of perceptual mirage or holographic interference pattern generated by two distant emitters that are only creating a third world by the temporary junction of the meeting of the two.

The very essence of what is, and what is to us, being real and real to us, is contained within the premise that everything is a momentary projection of a third pattern that is seemingly changing and temporally variable yet is actually the result of a momentary combination of two static fields. All of depth and motion could be a mirage of consciousness, a perceptual illusion, in and of itself.

Like a dream, space itself is an illusion of a simulated motion. It's not that space is a simulation, it's that the degree of motion and depth that we perceive with 2 eyes is actually an illusion compared to the third or 1. Space could be a 2D fractal field membrane thick layer of activated particles generating the illusion of motion via oscillatory fluctuations in power levels leading to a cycling iteration which leads to layering and complexity that results in a '3D' effect.

I put the link only because the illusion itself is very distracting or potentially visually overstimulating. A very wavy line pattern made out of a 'circling' of circles or dots generates the perception of a singular wave. This has two names Gestalt perceptions involving continuity and motion, and the mechanical wave illusion.

Does your perception erroneously create continuity where there is actually only repetitive motion or is there a real process that is being experienced? If it happens within our mind and perceptions, does it happen in reality and does that matter?

Could we generate or obtain enough information to render our current understanding of the universe and reality as limited as a kind of dream or 'scripted play'?

Can time become a 'scripted play' with a high enough intelligence level? If the soul is operating at a near light speed level of quantum processing, is it possible that the operation of 'timelines' and possibilities are actually contained within the complexity of the 'soul's' quantum processing capacity?

Could the lower dimensional perceptual system that the brain is 'plugged' into and the soul is observing be part of an old world atomic level archival simulated time (memory) matrix reality designed to 'bridge' the gap between the world moving away from the forward motion (into entropy) and the high potential of all the timelines put together, which must be at least accessible, if not interactive and physically available, to the soul at the highest power level (highest self awareness and induced resulting potential for variation of consciousness [in an 'extra dimensional' way or variable with increasing potential for increasing change, not lessening]).

How does the higher mind fold higher dimensions into itself in order to access through the soul and free the lower mind from archaic, primal, and lower dimensional energetic (thought based) constructs that trap the soul into repetitive behavior through fear and ignorance?

What is the nature of the lower mind moving to the higher? Is anything really changing? Are we moving pieces around on a board? Are we going to a different reality or maybe 'level' of a reality system? What actually changes?

The strangest possibility is that time is actually happening in a reverse format than what our perception is showing us. That whatever we're about to experience has already happened, and it's because realities are mapped out and 'printed' in reverse or at least the opposite of the direction of the perceptual system which is actually shaping the reality based the user that is seeing it.

This isn't necessarily because anyone did anything (unless we refer to possible previous world events) but because of the nature of time as a holographic cascade, perceptual lensing system where we can change our perception of time depending on the flow of energy in the brain. You can put events before themselves. You can alter events from the past.

You can do things that seemingly violate the forward motion and 'directedness' of consciousness, entropy and time and it seems that all things are ordered in an 'out of time way' which continually proves that something is occurring in an extra dimensional way rather than purely linear.

The conclusive concept is that all of time eventually folds back on itself and we are in spirals of 'self contained' fractal holographic 'loop like' circuits that are all existing in the same large information as energy based 'space' (which would look literally like a large cosmic computer at this point, if it were 'visible' (or the 'artifacts' are true)) and each template of a reality is the same with slight variations resulting in different temporal 'lenses' that are each a real view of the world coming in and out of a universal perspective depending on what 'bubble' you come out of and view it from (of which there are as many as you can conceive of as nations or different thought patterns of people).

What if instead of a 'large earth' theory which large 'puddles' in the frozen tundra that each contain a possible society and a template for a 'new earth' possibly darker, possibly lighter, but most likely more powerful, more complex, and less restricted leading to a completely different view than this 'puddle', what if it's a different kind of perspective?

What if, instead of a physical based perspective or larger 'template' it's much more conceptual and in that sense, 'much more vast' or literally, containing a virtual conceptualization of what we thought of as being purely physically contained or even defined, revealing that it's more like a flickering of a light pattern that can shimmer and rotate in a variety of different ways to produce different shimmers or sparkles which are each capable of containing enough information to 'reflect' back to the whole a complete and thorough, yet various, definition of itself.

Maybe the realm itself, space itself, a photonic, high energy, mirror, reflects and beams back a the view of a mirror universe once our 'time' reaches beyond the limits of this galaxy and our em fields all reach a set limit which will absorb and naturally accelerate and reflect back to us?

What we don't know about the complexity of the mind and space is relayed back to us as hidden pathways and abilities that are left in the subconscious to use as dreaming.

Can we use the physically present mind to engage with and operate abilities that are seemingly beyond the physical?

The question is, which reality, which shimmer, is real? The only one you really know, which is this one.

How that works is a matter of the same level of perceptual mechanics but on a different scale and function.
